Change & Deformation Analysis
For environmental and urban planning management, performing change analyses in designated regions and high-precision monitoring of deformations in critical buildings and facilities using satellite optical and SAR imagery.
Change analysis is carried out by fitting images of the same area from different dates to the same geometry and comparing them. After orthorectification and radiometric matching, the remaining differences represent real change; false change caused by season and sun angle is eliminated at this step.
Deformation monitoring uses SAR interferometry (InSAR). The phase difference between successive passes yields millimetre-scale vertical movement of the surface, so settlement and displacement tendencies in critical structures such as dams, bridges, viaducts and industrial facilities are noticed early.
