What matters in a disaster is not when the image was acquired but when the information derived from it reaches the decision maker. Thanks to prepared workflows, a damage assessment map is delivered within three hours of the optical or SAR image reaching us.
Production is based on comparing a pre-disaster archive image with the post-disaster image: collapsed structures, blocked roads, flooded areas and the advancing fire front are marked as separate layers. The output is provided both as a printed map and as data that can be loaded directly into the geographic information system used by teams in the field.
